SENIORS' SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE BEYOND RETIREMENT

This project is focus on Afro-Caribbean-Canadian seniors’ sustainable living through creative arts and wellness training, to reduce isolation and promote life beyond retirement by The Afro-Caribbean Creative Arts and Culture Centre that promotes the sustainable empowerment of black children, youth, parents, and seniors towards positive societal and economic impact. It focuses on these activities: –

  1. Vocational training in creative arts and culture to refine and produce Afro-Caribbean-Canadian seniors supercharged and ready to impact positively on society by changing their mentality of the black identity, wealth creation, and the building of a sustainable legacy of value for future generations.
  2.  Implementation of training programs on African-Caribbean arts and crafts, drama, and dance.
  3. Promote the inter-generational connections for building and sustaining the legacy of value through creative arts and crafts and storytelling.
  4.   The training is to contribute to the development of the Afro-Caribbean creative industries in Canada and Toronto specifically, as a tourist and multicultural heritage city. The Centre recognizes that black youths, parents, and seniors can engage in building cultural competencies and employability skills which are important for living and navigating in a diverse and multicultural community and the world of work. seniors

  1. Creative Dance, Meditation & Mindfulness Training-For Balance, and Mental Wellbeing
  2. Creative Recreation: -Painting & Drawing Using Sketch Pad Colouring Book
  3. Painting 101(Production will be presented to the public at a celebratory event to showcase the outcomes)
  4. Creative Craft-Fashion Jewelry Making-(Items Created will be sold for the economic benefit of the creator)
  5. Seniors’ Drama Production-Short Skits (Production will be presented to the public at a celebratory event to showcase the outcomes)
  6. Capturing & Publishing the Empowering Stories from Our Youthful Years-s (An E-Book to Be Sold for The Financial Benefit of Each Participant Contributor)
  7. Foundational Digital Literacy- Digital Fluency, Citizenship, And Cybersecurity Training for Seniors-To reduce Exposure to Scams and financial abuse online.
  8. Training and Awareness Building in Money ManagementFor Life Beyond Retirement – to assist them “to manage retirement income expanding awareness of elder abuse, including financial abuse”
  9. Seniors’ Mental Wellbeing Coaching and Grief and Loss Coaching, for Building Inner Strength and Personal Mastery and the ability to assist others with the new knowledge gained.
  10. Afro-caribe Fashion Design Creations-For Homebased Micro-Enterprise for Exhibition and Sales
The Afro-Caribe Arts and Culture Social Enterprise Community Hub

This hub seeks to promote Creative Arts Beyond Entertainment. Consequently,

  1. we promote and enhance the Afrocentric people’s social and economic wellbeing through harnessing of the creative talents in the  arts, culture and heritage,  as we seek to use these in social enterprise development, through a validation and commodification process that will lend to people’s enhanced standard of living.
  2. We seek to build inclusive, engaged and sustainable communities wherein families and vulnerable youth can thrive and prosper.
  3. We support the positive development of children and youth from the viewpoint of collective responsibility.
  4. We promote the development of a positive mindset among African Canadian groups be changed from the silo mentality of “for me only and only me”  to that of an intentionally cooperative and collaborative  one, in favour of a “for us by  us mindset and approach”
  5. We promote collective advocacy for changes in community and people development look for ensuring African diaspora community’ social and economic justice.

Our Social Enterprise Mission is to promote, support and train: –

  1. Black Youth and Adult Empowerment for capacity building and workplace readiness upskilling for the 21st century workplace, entrepreneurship development training, black Identity, leadership, and cultural competencies for living in a multi-cultural society.

Black Seniors’ Sustainable Living Through Creative Arts and Wellness Training to Reduce Isolation and Promote Life Beyond Retirement by The Afro-Caribbean Creative Arts and Culture Centre that promotes the sustainable empowerment of black parents, children, youths and seniors towards positive societal and economic impact, focused on these on: –
