Gila is a contemporary abstract painter, known for her acrylic painting that consists of strong and bold colors. She is a TV persona, and a humanitarian; her paintings are inspired by those around her.
She moved to Canada at the age of 12 and currently resides in Toronto. She has participated in group and solo shows and is currently working on a diversity project that will provide an opportunity to artists of different Canadian Ethnic Communities.
I view my art as a journey of self-discovery and fulfilment. The colours on the canvas are the paths by which I express the feeling of my true self and my painting aid in the nurturing of my soul. I mostly paint with acrylic media. Once I start, the magic of the colours guides me. As a women’s advocate, I see my paintings as giving voice to the beauty of every woman. My paintings express, women of courage and strength.
